Bink Davies Opens in the Short North This Weekend

Another new retail venture is opening up in this Short North this spring as Bink Davies makes their Gallery Hop debut on Saturday. The new store is located at 668 North High Street in the former Take 2 Apparel location which closed a few months ago.
We recently chatted with David Barbour, Manager of Bink Davies for a quick Q&A session about the new retail shop.
More information can be found online at binkdavies.com.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about the store concept and what sort of products you’ll carry?

A: We’re a modern general store. Think of that old timey store your grandparents might have shopped…then bitch slap it! We carry top brand gifts, specialty food, home décor, housewares, personal care and candles, local Columbus merchandise and novelties.

Q: The name of the store is quite unique. Where did it come from?

A: It’s a combination of our childhood names. Working on this project is a realization of our dreams together. So what better name than a combination our childhood nicknames to celebrate those dreams coming true.

Q: Is this your first retail venture?

A: Even though this is our first time owning a store, neither of us are newbies to the retail industry.

Q: Was there any specific appeal that drew you to the Short North for your first store?

A: We love the Short North community and are proud residents of this area. We live here, our other business is here and we see a great opportunity to be part of the retail re-birth of the Short North. The location is excellent to serve both the Short North neighborhood as well as visitors to this area.

Q: When is the grand opening scheduled, and are there any grand opening events going on?

A: Our soft opening is Friday, April 2… just in time for Gallery Hop and the first warm weekend of the year. We weren’t planning on a Grand Opening special but if your readers mention ColumbusUnderground.com, they’ll receive a 10% discount on their purchase through April 30, 2010.
